I really enjoy bookstagrams, like a lot. They’re a combination of books and photography. Some of them are so beautiful they’re like art captured by art.

So, I’m bringing back the Friday 5 featuring my 5 favorite bookstagrams in the last week! This Spring, I’ve been having so much fun creating bookstagrams of my book, The Travelers, in this gorgeous weather.

So I want to focus on bookstagrams that celebrate Spring! Here are 5 of my favorites. It was so hard to narrow it down to 5!

"I should infinitely prefer a book." Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice 🌷🌷🌷 A few days ago I was talking to my husband about a former coworker who wanted to meet for lunch, and this is what I said: "I don't want to go because I could be reading a book instead." And then he declared that sentence as my life motto. 😂 In case that sounds overly harsh, this is the same coworker who once informed me that she never reads because she doesn't enjoy it when she can't put a book down. Ummm…what?! Getting caught up in a story is the dream! 🌷🌷🌷 In other news, coffee! Specifically, @bookloverscoffee. Why I like this: This bookstagram is so unique. I love the use of the picture with combined with the book and it feels like a cohesive ode to Spring.

My pick today for the #constantreaderchallenge favorite female character is Susan Delgado. "The lovely girl at the window" 🌸🌸 "If you love me–then love me" ~ Susan Not much to say here without being all spoilery for DT noobs but, Wizard and Glass is my favorite of all the DT books. 3. Porcelain.ivory.steel

Why I like this: It’s not just one or two books, it’s an entire Spring bookshelf. And the rainbow, color coordinated books plus the simple white flowers is a beautiful nod to Spring.

4. Staybookish

Why I like this: I enjoy the symmetry of this pictures. It uses a lot of different colors, but I’m not overwhelmed by it because the yellow is prominent and it keeps an almost mathematical organization to the objects.

Day 18 of #grimdragon is Big Damn Heroes: Reluctant Heroic Characters. I was looking forward to this prompt since I love Firefly and anything Firefly is good with me. Having said that, I don’t think I could have picked a book more unlike Firefly if I tried! 😂 I read Shadowshaper by Daniel Jose Older last month, and I would give it a rating of 3 out of 5 stars. Sierra, the teen protagonist of Shadowshaper, is reluctant to become involved in the spirit world that seems to be intruding on her daily life. As she comes to realize that art connects her to the spirits around her, Sierra is quickly entrenched in a battle between good and evil. 🎨 #hamiltonedition: Diverse Reads. I bought this book because I heard the author speak and knew he’d written a YA novel centered around Caribbean legends with an Afro-Boricua female protagonist. All the love to Older for centering a book around Sierra and her culture, while also creating diverse secondary characters. 🙌🙌 #watermelandersapril: Magic. There is plenty of magic connecting Sierra to the spirit world, and forcing her to face the reality of her family history. And now I’m off to bed after what has been a very long day. 5. Xie.Reads

Why I like this: I like bookstagrams that capture more than books. I like the ones that also capture the joy of reading. This one does that and adds in the wonder of Spring. Just perfect because it makes you want to grab your book, run outside and start reading.

Why am I including this bonus bookstagram? Because I just love it and it’s not exactly “Spring”. Still, it has very pretty subtle flowers and a lot of cuteness and when I think of spring I think of small cute things, like cute little trees budding, cute little flowers. This is more abstract Spring. Therefore, not appropriate for my favorite Spring Bookstagrams, if I’m being literal. But, it’s more honorable mention.
