I am lucky to know some very talented people of all ages, many of them writers and poets. And, I’m lucky that they will share their work with me. Therefore, I’ve decided to start a poetry series as part of my blog. This is the first in the series. It’s called called 12:10 AM by Emma Flood.

12:10 AM
      by Emma Flood

In our time alive,
We have turned a lot of places
Into churches.

We weren’t very good at following
Family appointed religion,
But I will be damned
If people didn’t say
That everywhere they went with us
Was nothing short
Of a spiritual awakening.

I took communion with you
Out of cheap wine bottles
In the middle of the floor
Surrounded by strangers,

Processed with VSCOcam with a6 preset

And I broke bread with you,
Along with apple slices,
Under the docks
That weather will never wear.

Every place I went with you was holy.
