There has been much talk lately about how books, particularly speculative fiction such as Orwell's 1984, are cautionary tales for the slippery slope the world is proceeding down. I need a break from that doom and gloom. So, let's talk about fictional worlds where I might actually like to visit or even live.
Yesterday, I realized I'm thisclose to sharing a birthday with Shakespeare. I missed it by 2 days, but it made me wonder who I do share this day with. Turns out, it's some pretty cool people who are also indirectly related to my 10 favorite things! It all comes together...
I'm a a sucker for a good angsty, teen TV show. And I'm not afraid to quote them. "Sometimes happiness doesn't come from money, or fame, or power. Sometimes happiness comes from good friends and family, and from the quiet nobility of leading a good life." Today I embraced this idea.
It's Tuesday and, as I established last week, I plan to devote Tuesdays to a blog based on one of my husband's many interesting t-shirts. Now, I could have chosen my husband's pessimism t-shirt. It's very funny and would have resulted in an interesting blog. BUT, today I already decided to go rogue. I'm going to base it on one of MY t-shirts instead. (Sorry pessimism. Another Gilmore Girl's blog isn't the worst thing that could happen. 😉 )
It’s no secret among my friends and family, and anyone who follows me on twitter, that I have a tiny obsession with the Gilmore Girls. It’s one of my favorite shows of all time. I’ve seen every episode more than once and my favorite episodes so many times I can’t count. Since the premiere is only 5 days away, I thought it might be fun to rank my top 5 favorite Gilmore Girls episodes. Trust me, this wasn’t easy and, to be clear, these are not even what many might call the “best” episodes. But, I have a personal connection to them!
