How I Spent My Holiday Break: Binging on Books

As I flitted around to various holiday celebrations, I started to notice a trend, people like to talk about their latest TV binge obsession. I like to binge TV too, but over my holiday break I binged something better. I binged books!

Friday 5: Jane Austen Throws Shade, Fairies are Real & More of the Best Bookish Articles This Week

This is one of my favorite blogs to write. On Friday, I pick five book-related articles from the last week (or so) that I really loved and share them so everyone else can love them too! This week brings us Shady Jane, fierce fairies and lots more bookish fun!

One Last Poem for #NationalPoetryMonth – Lucid California Dreaming With My Favorite Young Poet

It's the end of April, which means it's also the last day of National Poetry Month. To say goodbye to this month and what also feels like goodbye to spring, I've chosen one last poem from one of my favorite young poets Emma Flood, an ethereal wanderlust of words for those who seek to dream.

April is such an awesome month, I can almost barely stand it. First, it's National Poetry Month. April also means spring and flowers and warm weather. And, today, April 2, is International Children's Book Day. Just another reason to love April.

Forget April Fool’s Day, It’s National Poetry Month! Here’s How to Celebrate…

Yes, it's April 1, which means it's April Fool's Day. Boring! One day to play jokes on each other? No thanks. I'm more interested in the fact that this marks day 1 of National Poetry Month. Here's how to celebrate. Plus a poem by a wonderful young poet to start the month off right.

Breaking My Book “Type” – My Diverse Book Year

You often hear people say "That's not my type of thing" or "He wasn't my type" or "That's not a type of food I like." Whether you're talking about people, food or, yes, even books, everyone has a "type." Some people are romance types, some people are non-fiction types, some people are memoir types, science fiction, fantasy, young adult...there are many book types to choose from and many ways to pigeon hole yourself.
