I don’t generally like to get my news from Facebook. But every now and then a story comes along that deserves to be read. When I saw this story in my feed I couldn’t resist looking into it. It’s about a girl who dressed up as Ruth Bader Ginsburg for Superhero Day at her school. I’m not sure there is a more perfect story to encapsulate the goals of the Books Over Looks blog series! The Facebook post reads: It’s superhero day at school. Michele has been reading the heck out of “I Dissent” and decided to dress as Ruth Bader Ginsburg, because she fights prejudice and injustice. Girls who read really are dangerous, to unfairness and outmoded inequalities. Ruth Bader Ginsburg #rbg #notoriousRBG
*** Edit — the picture made it to RBG! Her assistant emailed me today to ask for our address so Justice Ginsburg could write her a handwritten note. Thank you all for making this happen!

“Dear Michele: You look just like me! May you continue to thrive on reading and learning. Every good wish, Ruth Bader Ginsburg.”
