Like the Highlander, sometimes there really should only be one. If you're unfamiliar with my arcane reference to the 1980s cult film, it's about a bunch of immortal highlanders who battle each other until only one is left. That's not really why I'm using this example.
There has been much talk lately about how books, particularly speculative fiction such as Orwell's 1984, are cautionary tales for the slippery slope the world is proceeding down. I need a break from that doom and gloom. So, let's talk about fictional worlds where I might actually like to visit or even live.
Yesterday, I realized I'm thisclose to sharing a birthday with Shakespeare. I missed it by 2 days, but it made me wonder who I do share this day with. Turns out, it's some pretty cool people who are also indirectly related to my 10 favorite things! It all comes together...
One of my favorite Halloween traditions is watching The Simpsons 'Treehouse of Horror'. This year 'Treehouse of Horror XXVII' already aired on October 16.
