Buying gifts can be stressful. If you’re like me you fret about giving people the perfect gift. I like my gifts to be meaningful. Honestly, if someone makes a wish list that’s the best. But, not everyone does and if it’s a list sent to multiple people, then you risk giving duplicate gifts. So how do you pick the best gift for someone?
First, I like to think about the things they really like and then try to find something unusual or special related to it. I am also a big fan of “giving a gift that gives back.” For example, my friend loves dogs and advocates for several dog rescue communities. So, this year I got her a gift where part of the money goes to a dog rescue charity. This is also one of the reasons why I’m donating proceeds from my book, The Travelers, this holiday season. That way if you give my book as a gift, you’ll know part of the money will be going to a charity that supports expanding reading for kids!
Of course it’s not always possible to “give a gift that gives” back and to know what’s perfect for every person. But, I may be able to help somewhat for those book lovers in your life who you’re looking to please with an amazing gift this holiday season.
Here’s my Gift Guide for the literary lads and ladies in your life.
For the Book Lover Who Likes All Things Scented – A Book-Themed Candle from Book-Lovers Candles
For the Voracious YA Reader – An OwlCrate Subscription
Each box will contain one brand new hardcover Young Adult novel, as well as 3-5 other bookish keepsakes to help set the mood for your literary adventure. Every box will be built with a super fun and creative theme in mind, and will also include special goodies right from the author!
For the Crafter Who Also Loves Harry Potter – The Unofficial Guide to Crafting the World of Harry Potter
30 Magical Crafts for Witches and Wizards―from Pencil Wands to House Colors Tie-Dye Shirts – find it here on amazon
For the Bookstagrammer – POP Figurines (they sell them at Barnes and Noble and online)
Your bookstagramming friend probably doesn’t create a lot of bookstagrams about Mr. T – but I loved this one so I took a picture of it. There are also tons of these based on literary and TV characters. And if your friend likes Harry Potter, they definitely have every character to ever grace the pages of the Wizarding world.

You saw the legs bookmark, too? I totally love it! And floating invisible shelves are my dream but we have plaster walls (old home around turn of the century) so I have to get a bookcase, or light shelves. And I don’t hand either (argh!)
